About the Ethics Centre

The Covenant Health Ethics & Discernment Centre consists of three full time staff and dozens of supporters in the form of ethics committee members, representatives, associates and 'champions' for ethics in all Covenant Health sites across the province.

The vision for the Ethics & Discernment Centre arose out of a passion to ensure that our clinical and administrative colleagues were empowered to face the ever increasingly complex challenges of the health care world and to support them as they seek to honour the dignity of their patients and residents by serving with compassion and understanding.

Please take a minute to scroll though our site and learn a little more about us, our passion for the integration of ethical reflection in all aspects of health care, and our hopeful vision for care at Covenant Health.

She was awarded a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Doctoral Fellowship for her research on ethical practice. Eleanor’s interest in ethics grew from her experiences working with children and their families living with complex neurodevelopmental disabilities. She became involved in the ethics community as a member of the Ethics Committee at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital and member of her professional association and college. Later, as Eleanor’s interest grew, she returned to university to complete a PhD in health care ethics.
