Bonnyville Health Centre emergency department renovation
The Bonnyville Health Centre emergency department is being renovated to improve access to safe, timely emergency care close to home. The project updates the space and adds more room so patients can be seen and treated sooner. The emergency department will stay open throughout construction.
Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2027.

Covenant Wellness Community
The Covenant Wellness Community in southeast Edmonton is Alberta’s first community-based wellness hub that will empower people to live and age well in their community.
Designed to address unmet needs, the Covenant Wellness Community will invest in evidence-based services for seniors’ care, primary care and mental health care. By integrating health, social and community resources, this innovative service model will:
- decrease unnecessary acute care visits
- ensure smoother transitions between hospitals and the community
- increase access to community-based care
La Crete Maternity and Community Health Centre
An approved Government of Alberta capital project, the new facility will be operated by Covenant Health and provide integrated health services for the 9,200 people living in the area.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2028.
Trochu Seniors Supportive Living and St. Mary’s Health Care Centre
The Trochu Seniors Supportive Living facility is a Town of Trochu/Trochu Housing Corporation capital project funded in part by the Alberta government. Once complete, it will offer independent living, lodge services, long-term care and supportive living, allowing residents in Trochu and the surrounding area to remain in their community as they age.
Covenant Health will continue the legacy of St. Mary’s Health Care Centre by being the service provider within the new facility.
The facility is scheduled to open in 2027.
