Patrick Dumelie is CEO of Covenant Health, Canada’s largest Catholic health care provider. Patrick also serves as the CEO of Covenant Care and Covenant Living, sister organizations in the Covenant family.

Patrick is a mission-driven leader, committed to quality, innovation and transformation in health care. Under his leadership, Covenant Health plays a vital role as a key partner in Alberta's integrated health care system and a leadership role in serving Alberta's most vulnerable populations--including people at end of life, those struggling with addiction and mental illness, marginalized seniors and rural populations. Patrick is committed to fostering a health care system that is focused on working in partnership with patients, residents and their families and working collaboratively with Government, health partners and community to transform health care and create communities of health and healing.

Patrick arrived in Alberta in 2006 to serve as President and CEO of Caritas Health Group. In 2008, he provided leadership in the merger of 12 Catholic organizations in Alberta and the formation of Covenant Health.  Covenant Care was launched under his leadership in 2013 to serve Alberta’s growing seniors population.

Building on the rich 150-year tradition of Catholic health care in Alberta, Patrick has worked to strengthen the health care system through the organization’s breadth of programs and services, high quality and performance, system leadership and vibrant corporate culture. Covenant Health has emerged as one of Alberta’s Top 70 Employers for multiple years, was named one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures for 2014, and was recognized as a 2016 Worlds Most Ethical Company ®.  It has consistently achieved the highest level of accreditation since 2010 and holds Accreditation with Exemplary Standing.

Before arriving in Alberta, Patrick held executive roles in the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region. Patrick holds an MBA from Queens University and a bachelor of administration from the University of Regina. In 2013, Patrick was honored to receive the Midcareer Leadership Award from the Catholic Health Alliance of Canada.
