Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP)

The Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP) is a defined benefit pension plan; this means employees receive a pension based on their annual salary and years of service.

Mandatory Participation - Permanent full-time and permanent part-time employees who are regularly scheduled to work an average of 30.0 hours per week are required to join the pension plan and are automatically enrolled.

Optional Participation - Permanent part-time employees who are regularly scheduled to work an average of 14.0 to 29.9 hours per week and temporary employees working at least 30.0 hours per week for a period of one year or more may also participate.

Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan

Covenant Health provides all employees with the opportunity to contribute to a Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP’s) through payroll deduction. RRSPs are managed by Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Financial.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a benefit that is 100% employer funded. Every January 1 eligible employees receive annual credits (benefit dollars) in a FSA. The amount of the FSA is based on the employee's position (FTE). 


Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP)

Every Covenant Health employee and their immediate family members have access to a variety of free and confidential support services. The Employee & Family Assistance Program provides immediate and relevant support that can help you take action to achieve and maintain your mental and physical well-being.

Perks and Incentives

Covenant Health has established discounts for staff through generous corporate partners. These include fitness centre discounts, employee hardware purchase program, home and auto insurances, telecommunication, and different eateries.
