The Grey Nuns Community Hospital Mental Health Program provides comprehensive mental health services for patients and families. The following out-patient group programs are available.

Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program (PPHP)

This group program runs for six weeks from Monday to Friday and stems from the Recovery Model. The program addresses skill acquisition such as coping skills, goal setting, communication skills and reflection. Referrals can be sent by any Allied Health professional by fax to 780.735.7809.

Psychiatric Out-Patient Program (POP)

POP is a group therapy program that runs for 12 weeks from Tuesday to Thursday. It helps people explore what is not working in their lives and what they can do to make changes.  Referrals can be sent by any Allied Health professional by fax to 780.735.7298.

Emotion Regulation Group

This 90-minute group therapy session occurs on Mondays for 14 weeks. The focus is on skill training for people who struggle with their emotions. Referrals can be sent by any Allied Health professional by fax to 780.735.7298.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Plus (CBT+)

This three-hour group occurs once a week for twelve weeks. The focus is learning skills to regulate emotions, cope with difficult and distressing emotions, as well as identify and challenge problematic thinking patterns that contribute to difficulties with emotions. Referrals from physicians can be faxed to 780.735.7496.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

 This three-hour weekly group runs for one year and is a skill training program for those with specific diagnoses. In order to be eligible for this program, candidates must take CBT Plus first. Please phone 780.735.7575 for more information.

Anger Group

This  group is for those who want to find other ways to manage their anger. Sessions run on Wednesdays for 12 weeks. Please send your referral form to Allied Health.
