Wound Care Clinic
The outpatient Wound Care Clinic provides advanced wound management assessment for patients with chronic wounds and related conditions. Our multidisciplinary team includes specially trained doctors, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and dietitians. Our approach is patient-centered and focuses on prevention, education and a return to independence. Wound care services are provided based on assessed, individual needs by the wound management team.
Services include:
- Assessment and wound management for diabetic foot wounds with follow-up
- Education and self-care support in wound management and prevention
- Alberta Aids to Daily Living Authorizations (AADL) for pressure gradient stockings after chronic wound treatment
Patients require a referral from a physician or nurse practitioner. As this is a specialty clinic, patients can expect to be discharged back to their referring provider or primary care physician.
