Early Pregnancy Loss Program

The Early Pregnancy Loss Program provides focused and compassionate care for women experiencing a pregnancy loss at less than 20 weeks gestation. Once a concern has been identified by a family doctor or emergency physician, a referral can be made to the clinic.

In consultation with an obstetrician/gynecologist, nurses will administer medical care that includes confirmation of the pregnancy loss. Information on usual symptoms associated with a pregnancy loss, self-care, and reasons to seek urgent care are provided. Individualized treatment options will be offered that may include expectant, medical, or surgical management.

Patients are followed until their symptoms have resolved. Emotional and bereavement care are offered, as well as options for honoring the pregnancy.
