Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Our NICU cares for around 1,500 babies each year who need additional care and support in their first hours to weeks of life. Families are an integral part of their baby's care team, and we work with them every step of the way in their baby's journey home. Families are welcome to stay at their baby’s bedside 24 hours a day.
Information for visitors
- Please clean your hands every time you enter the NICU.
- If you are feeling sick, we ask that you wait to visit the NICU until you are feeling well again.
- Children are welcome in the NICU. For the safety of the patients, children must be up-to-date on their routine immunizations.
- We encourage parents to invite loved ones to visit their baby in the NICU.
- Visitors must be accompanied by parents unless alternate arrangements are made with the unit.
