Covenant Health

Strong connections through community boards

Community boards are a key part of Covenant Health's structure. These groups represent our Board of Directors in their communities, and ensure there is effective communication between the local communities and the provincial organization.

Community

Key roles of community boards:

Community Boards represent community health interests to the Covenant Health Board of Directors and communicate back to their community.

Community Boards are a valuable resource to help determine the future of Catholic health in key areas of need (palliative care, seniors' health, mental health and rural health).

The Covenant Health Board of Directors may also invite Community Board members

  • to serve on committees of the Board of Directors
  • to participate in provincial health task forces either led by or supported by Covenant Health. This participation provides the opportunity to help determine the future of Catholic health in key areas of need (palliative care, seniors, mental health, and rural health).

Community Boards are not responsible for the governance of Covenant Health programs or services, or the day-to-day management of programs/services.
