Acute care
The Banff Mineral Springs Acute Care Unit provides a mix of medicine and surgery services and consists of 22 beds with one palliative care room and one flexible palliative care room. There is also a two-bed, special care room for patients needing close observation.
Surgical procedures, both elective and urgent/emergent, are provided on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Elective surgery patients are processed through a pre-assessment clinic, also located on acute care. The clinic assesses the need for pre-anesthesia consults and provides pre- and post-operative teaching.
Family medicine physicians provide care to our admitted medical patients. Care is multidisciplinary in approach, supporting discharge goals upon admission.
