This week's reflection

Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.

Covenant Partner Program

Volunteering as a Covenant Partner is a unique opportunity to help shape health care in Covenant Health.

Engaging current or past patients, residents, families and interested members of the community with lived experience and listening to their feedback is essential to providing care that is better informed, safer and leads to better healthcare experiences and outcomes.

Partners are individuals with lived experience.  Partners volunteer not only their time, but also their insights and unique perspectives that come from their personal experiences.

What is the role of a Covenant Partner?

Partners bring the voice and perspectives of their communities to the planning, delivery, evaluation and improvement of healthcare.

Types of involvement may include participation on provincial, program, site and unit based committees and councils, building design, strategic planning, focus groups – and more!

What are the qualities of a Covenant Partner?

Partners have an interest and an ability to share their life and health care experiences in ways that others can learn from. Other important qualities they have are that they:

  • can see beyond their own personal experiences
  • are good listeners
  • respectfully bring diverse views and perspectives
  • respect others’ viewpoints
  • are able to share their lived experience and contribute to positive outcomes
  • are interested in working collaboratively with health care leaders and providers
