The CITI-Canada GCP Refresher course is now available to members of the Alberta Clinical Research Consortium (ACRC). This abbreviated version of the CITI-Canada GCP course will facilitate ongoing training to fulfill sponsor and regulatory requirements. 

The Refresher course meets the minimum criteria for GCP training identified by TransCelerate BioPharma Inc., enabling mutual recognition of training among trial sponsors. The course consists of the following seven modules:


  • International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH): GCP Requirements
  • Investigator's Responsibilities and GCP  
  • Informed Consent    
  • Safety Management
  • Investigational Product (Drug) Management
  • Audits, Inspections, and Monitoring of Drug Studies
  • Sponsor Responsibilities and GCP

Additional Details

The Refresher course becomes accessible after the original GCP Basic course has been completed and training has expired.

Expiry Date Assigned to CITI-Canada GCP Training

The ACRC Executive Committee recommends GCP training every 2 years as is common practice within Alberta institutions and pharmaceutical companies. To align with these recommendations, a 2 year expiry date has been assigned to the CITI-Canada GCP Basic and GCP Refresher courses.
Users' will receive a notification from CITI when training is close to expiry.
