Getting to the heart of vascular health

Edmonton - Media are invited to attend the 2nd annual Vascular Health Day hosted by the Northern Alberta Vascular Centre. The full-day event will take place at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital and will feature vascular health screenings, a mock operating room, vascular surgery simulations, lunch and learn, and a community walk. The day will begin with a formal speaking program and a provincial declaration presented by The Honourable Brandy Payne, Associate Minister of Health.

Vascular Health Day was created to raise awareness of vascular disease, prevention and treatment. The Northern Alberta Vascular Centre is located at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital and is the centre for vascular care for a population of more than 2 million, serving all of Northern Alberta, the Northwest Territories, as well as parts of British Columbia and Saskatchewan. The program is home to some of the top vascular surgeons in North America and performs more than 2,300 surgeries yearly.

Media are asked to meet at the front entrance of the Grey Nuns Community Hospital where a communications representative will bring you to the media availability at 9:30 a.m.

Note: Construction is taking place along the 66 street corridor from 28 Avenue to 41 Avenue. You can access the facility along 28 Avenue to Youville Drive West NW. Media with marked vehicles can park in public parking for free for the duration of the story.
