This week's reflection

This week's reflection

I am even more deeply pleased if it has helped to encourage the young people that have followed our generation to express their pride in our heritage more openly, more joyfully than I would have ever dared to think possible.

Stronger Together: Covenant statement on Black Lives Matter

June 09, 2020

In keeping with our mission, particularly our values of respect and social justice, Covenant stands with our community and joins a growing voice across Alberta, Canada, and the world in opposing racism and discrimination in all forms against any people.

Racism, including deplorable attitudes and hurtful behaviour towards people of colour, is sadly alive and present in our world, in our communities, and in health care. It shows up in our facilities, in those we serve, on our own teams, and affects our staff and those we care for.

We acknowledge that there is no easy solution for a problem that has existed for centuries. But this cannot stop us from doing the right thing as a community. We will continue to listen and to learn. Covenant is committed to being part of the solution and will continue our efforts to make a meaningful difference.

We are grateful for all who take a stand, working together as a caring community towards respect and dignity for all in each action and interaction.
