This week's reflection

I believe the second half of one's life is meant to be better than the first half. The first half is finding out how you do it. And the second half is enjoying it.

Temporary disruption in select surgeries and procedures

July 10, 2014

UPDATE: The Misericordia Community Hospital is working towards returning to full surgical and procedural capabilities.

Return to this page for your most current information regarding the Misericordia Community Hospital until we return to our normal surgerical schedules.

The Misericordia Community Hospital is rescheduling select surgeries and procedures due to a pipe leak that has impacted some surgical areas. The leak is the result of the recent heavy rainfall. The pipe has been replaced and the area is being repaired. Impacted areas include endoscopy, cystoscopy and day surgery. Any patients whose surgeries or procedures are affected have been notified.

The health and safety of our patients and staff is our top priority; we will not put them at risk. To ensure safety, we must follow strict infection prevention and control, and occupational health and safety practices that will take time to complete. We are doing our best to minimize impact on our patients and are working closely with Alberta Health Services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our patients.
