If you are eligible, you must enroll in benefit offerings within the first 31 days of initial eligibility as per your employee grouping. We will email you when you are able to elect benefits.

Previous experience, portability and site transfers
Recognition of previous experience
We may recognize relevant work experience hours from previous positions or employers to determine your salary placement. This only applies to time worked before your start date with us. See Article 16: Salaries in your collective agreement.
You will be placed at Step 1 of the salary grid for your job classification. To have your rate of pay adjusted, you must submit your previous experience for review. For more information about submitting requests, see experience, education and portability.
Portability and site transfers
There are currently no provisions in the collective agreement for portability of dates, accrued banks or site transfers from other employers.
Health care aides only
If your competency status on the Alberta HCA Directory changes you must email a completed Education and Certificate Cover form with a copy your new status on the directory and, where applicable, your educational qualifications, to HRBusinessSupport@covenanthealth.ca.
See the licenses, professional registration and certifications for more information.
