Unit 1A & Unit 2B: Acute dementia
Unit 1A and 2B are each 30 bed acute care units which provide assessment and treatment for patients who have organic disorders and are demonstrating moderate to severe responsive behaviors. These behaviors may include aggression, resistance to care, and sexual inappropriateness. Common diagnoses include Alzheimer’s, and Vascular Dementia.
Upon discharge, patients are placed in the most suitable and supportive community living environment. A large number of patients go to continuing care facilities.
