The respiratory therapists at the Misericordia Community Hospital play a vital role in assisting with:

  • Patients with cardio-pulmonary and related health issues
  • Working in a variety of settings that range from treating patients in critical care units, on interdisciplinary teams on medical and surgical units
  • Educating patients with asthma and COPD on how to manage and cope with respiratory illnesses
  • Conducting assessments and performing diagnostic testing
  • Develop and administer respiratory care plans
  • Facilitate discharge from acute care and clinical settings
