Our respiratory therapy team provides quality respiratory care with compassion, respect and integrity to improve the quality of life for patients in hospital and in the community.
The respiratory therapists at the Misericordia Community Hospital play a vital role in assisting with:
- Patients with cardio-pulmonary and related health issues
- Working in a variety of settings that range from treating patients in critical care units, on interdisciplinary teams on medical and surgical units
- Educating patients with asthma and COPD on how to manage and cope with respiratory illnesses
- Conducting assessments and performing diagnostic testing
- Develop and administer respiratory care plans
- Facilitate discharge from acute care and clinical settings
