Ethics Touches Everyone

From the bedside to the boardroom, whether you are deciding how to respond to a medical emergency, how to distribute resources fairly, or how to maintain integrity when faced with challenges.

The Covenant Health Ethics & Discernment Centre is a hub for ethics practitioners and laypeople alike, engaged in Catholic healthcare and business conversations around:

  • professional ethics
  • clinical ethics
  • business ethics
  • research ethics

The Covenant Health Ethics & Discernment Centre is your one-stop source to develop and implement excellent ethical standards and practices, providing learning and education support, plus the professional resources and tools.

Moral Distress Support

Moral distress is a growing concern for health care professionals and organizations during COVID-19. It is a harm that we can’t see that arises when care providers feel trapped in a compromise that undermines their sense of ethical integrity.

Use the attached self-care planning tool to create a lifestyle that supports personal well being.

Access the video on 'Building A Moral Distress Plan' presented by Dr. Eleanor Stewart here

Our Commitment to Ethical Integrity is the Covenant Health code of conduct. It has been developed in tandem with a policy established by our Board of Directors to support a statement on organizational conduct that applies to the entire Covenant Health team—Board members, staff, physicians and volunteers.

The Health Ethics Guide is a foundational resource used by Covenant Health.  Hard copies are available to Covenant Health staff, contact us to request one.
