Edmonton's New Year's baby arrives at Misericordia

Alyza Venice Badival was born at 12:04 p.m. January 1, 2012 at the Misericordia Community Hospital. Her proud parents are Zendell Badival (mother) and Alistair Badival (father) of Edmonton. Alyza is the first child for the young couple and the first grandchild on both sides of the family.

Alyza weighed 6 lbs 5 oz and 19.1 inches.

Alyza arrived early. Zendell was not due to deliver until January 16, 2012. Zendell went into labour around 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011. She came into the hospital around 5 p.m. As midnight neared the couple started thinking they may be in the running for the New Year’s baby and were thrilled when Alyza was born and they found out she was the first in Edmonton in 2012.
