Community gathers to celebrate Grey Nuns Community Hospital’s 25 years of service The community of Mill Woods gathered on a very sunny Sunday afternoon on May 5 to celebrate 25 years to the day of compassionate care at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital.	2013 Mission Awards The 2013 Covenant Health Mission Awards captured our imaginations and transported us to 14 of our sites where we saw 44 nominees demonstrate Covenant Health’s six values: Compassion, Respect, Collaboration, Social Justice, Integrity and Stewardship.

Edmonton General residents celebrate their culture with Chinese New Year festivities Each year, residents of the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre’s Ming Ai program celebrate the Chinese New Year with festivities and performances including a lion dance, a praise dance performed by residents, and singing.
2012 Lights of Hope campaign For the second year, the Caritas Foundation presents the Lights of Hope campaign, with the historic Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre transformed into a stunning Christmas masterpiece of festive lights. All proceeds support the needs of Edmonton General residents throughout the year.	2012 Annual Community Meeting Covenant Health held its 2012 Annual Community Meeting on Oct. 17. Highlights included an address by guest speaker, Dr. Eduardo Bruera; and the inaugural Service Through Christ Awards, presented to Fred Barth and Ed Stelmach.
Palliative End of Life Care Institute launch Covenant Health launched the Palliative End of Life Care Institute on Oct. 17. The Institute will bring experts together to advance palliative and end-of-life care by leading and facilitating research, education and public outreach.	Covenant Health proud to name continuing care facilities in Calgary It was an exciting day for Covenant Health on Monday, Sept. 10 as it named two buildings under construction on the future continuing care campus in the Evanston neighbourhood of northwest Calgary.
2012 Youth Healthcare Camp The Covenant Health Healthcare Camp offers students an opportunity to grow their knowledge base and interest to find out what opportunity is right for them in the healthcare industry by showing them what various departments do each day.	Meaningful Mural Project Unveiling - Misericordia On July 27, 2012, Volunteer Services at the Misericordia and Villa Caritas held an event to unveil the murals created by volunteers, staff and members of the community as part of the 2012 Meaningful Mural Project. The mural painting projects were designed as a way to engage our team and community, while creating a therapeutic environment for the patients, residents and visitors at our facilities.
Day care kids put on a show for Grey Nuns patients Decked out in colourful Bollywood outfits, children from the Tawa Montessori Day Care and Out-of-School Care Centre danced their way into the hearts of Stroke and Geriatrics patients at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital on June 27, 2012. Bonnyville Health Centre’s first annual teepee-raising ceremony 2012 To celebrate National Aboriginal Day on June 21, 2012, Bonnyville Health Centre and Alberta Health Services staff, Aboriginal people from area First Nations and Métis settlements, and Bonnyville residents gathered for a teepee raising, pipe ceremony and traditional feast. It was an opportunity to honour Aboriginal culture and increase awareness about resources focused on Aboriginal health.
Annual Country Fair brings together generations of fun Genuine glee spread at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre during the Annual Country Fair on June 5 and 6, 2012.	Nurses' Week 2012 Covenant Health celebrates Nurses Week 2012 by creating different activities that highlight all of the work that nurses do.
2012 Mission Awards Congratulations to all 2012 Covenant Health Mission Awards Nominees! Recipients of the 2012 Covenant Health Mission Awards were announced at a gala event on April 19, 2012.	St. Therese Villa reunites resident with high school friends The Second Wind Dreams program at St. Therese Villa in Lethbridge helped make dreams come true for resident Laurian Beauchesne, whose dream was to reunite with her three best friends from high school. Long-time journalist celebrates 102nd birthday at Edmonton General Joy Roberts White, one of the spunkiest residents at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre, celebrated her 102nd birthday with friends and fellow residents on March 29, 2012. Read her story in our Story of the Week section!	Name of Red Deer’s new continuing care centre Covenant Health announced the name for Red Deer’s new 100-bed continuing care centre located in Clearview North. Villa Marie was chosen in honour of the Daughters of Wisdom, the Catholic sisters who founded Catholic education in Red Deer.
Second Wind Dreams - Valentines Day 2012 Valentine’s Day called for a special delivery and over 500 residents at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre received handmade valentines from students at Lynnwood School. Oilers visit Covenant Health hospitals The Edmonton Oilers shared Christmas joy with patients and residents at Covenant Health hospitals on Dec. 21, 2011. Ben Eager, Eric Belanger and Darcy Hordichuk visited Grey Nuns Community Hospital. Ladislav Smid visited Misericordia Community Hospital and Shawn Horcoff visited Villa Caritas.
