Covenant Health is Canada’s largest Catholic healthcare organization, with almost 15,000 physicians, employees and volunteers in 12 communities. A major provider in Alberta’s integrated health system, Covenant Health works with Alberta Health Services and community partners to positively influence the health of Albertans through a broad range of programs and services in 18 hospitals, health centres and continuing care facilities.

Accreditation

As part of an ongoing commitment to quality and patient safety, each year, Covenant Health is accredited through Accreditation Canada.  Emphasizing accountability, performance measurement and effective governance, Accreditation Canada has an internationally recognized evaluation process for assessing the quality of health services.

Following an onsite survey in November 2012, Covenant Health was Accredited with Exemplary Standing, the highest level of achievement. This completes the third year of a three-year Accreditation cycle for Covenant Health. The next survey will take place in October 2014.
