Covenant Health selected to demonstrate new continuing care model

Red Deer, Canada

The Alberta Government has recognized Covenant Health’s expertise and experience in seniors care by partnering with it to demonstrate a new way of caring for our aging population. The work will be done at Covenant Health’s soon to be constructed 100-bed continuing care facilities in Red Deer and Calgary.

Alberta’s Minister of Health Fred Horne made the announcement Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Red Deer.

Canadians should have access to quality end of life care regardless of where they live or die

Edmonton, Alberta — Covenant Health commends the important work of the Parliamentary Committee on Palliative and Compassionate Care, which released its landmark report "Not to be Forgotten: Care of Vulnerable Canadians" yesterday. Covenant Health contributed to the report--formally presenting to the committee in Ottawa, preparing a written submission and participating in round-table discussion.
